Digital examinations

• are conducted digitally on a computer or laptop under supervision in an examination centre 
• take place using our secure examination software 
• allow flexibility in taking the oral examination, as it can be conducted online via videoconference or on-site at the examination centre
• have the same content and assessment criteria as paper-based exams and are just as valid, reliable and objective 
• can be scored by examiners and raters using existing licenses. No extra licenses are required.

• they take place by means of a secure browser (Safe Exam Browser) 
• the examination tasks can only be seen after the software has been unlocked 
• the content varies within an examination group 
• the examination software enables grading to be completed directly in the system

• flexible: You can add or cancel participants until shortly before the start of the exam, using the familiar template. You do not need any special approvals. This makes registration more flexible. In addition, you can remove registrations free of charge in the event of cancellations. 
• fast: As soon as the exam is finished and the protocol documents have been uploaded, the evaluation can begin. Due to the elimination of postal routes and the faster, digital processes, you will receive the results within a limited period of time. 
• safe: Thanks to different examination versions, fraud is made much more difficult. Of course, all versions have the same level of difficulty and the same evaluation criteria. 
• more cost-effective: You avoid postal costs and can plan and cancel examinations more easily
• sustainable and future-oriented: you save paper and energy, reduce CO2 emissions and thus contribute to the preservation of nature. At telc, we believe it is time to work together to create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

Preparation: Complete the Digital Check and the associated course that explains how to conduct digital exams. Read the guidelines for conducting the Digital Examinations. 

• Register with use our examination software, which is required for digital testing. 
• Register the exam in telc Community. All exam administration takes place there. Registration must be carried out by the examination centre where the examination is to be conducted. This ensures that those responsible for the exam can work in the Community and in the exam software.
• Shortly before the examination starts, enter the final number of participants in the Community or update the number entered in advance in the case of cancellations.

Conducting the examination: 

• You will receive the digital examinations in our exam software, they will be automatically assigned to the participants.  
• The participants take the examination in the Safe Exam Browser. The examiner can log in to conduct the oral part of the examination if required or take it on site. The oral examination does not have to be taken at the same time, but can take place at a later date.  

Obtaining certificates:  

• The examinations are sent immediately to telc via the software for further processing. 
• You will receive the certificates within two weeks.

• If you have an existing license agreement, you need an authorization to perform digital examinations. You can apply for this online in telc Campus. The examination centre coordinator can access this.

• Now you are ready to go! You can now examine digitally. Examiners and raters do not need another license to examine digitally if they hold a valid license for the corresponding paper-based examination.
