The additional qualification for professional language courses

In this course, you will learn how to conduct effective business and vocational German lessons from A2 to C2. 

 

The conceptual requirements set out by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge - BAMF) serve as a guideline for this qualification.  After successful completion of the course, you will have the necessary knowledge to teach in a professional language context and will be able to respond to the needs of different target groups. This qualification meets the requirements set out by BAMF to teach work-related German language skills.    

The ZQ BSK consists of 8 modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of vocational education 

Module 2: Types of language usage 

Module 3: Independent learning and skills relevant to the labour market  

Module 4: Teaching approaches and methodology in professional German courses 

Module 5: Evaluation, assessment, testing 

Module 6: Digital literacy 

Module 7: Tasks and roles of teachers in business language courses 

Module 8: Intercultural communication and integration into the labour market 

How is the course structured?

The supplemental qualification is structured as a modular course – the eight modules are completed in live sessions, either face-to-face or online.  

In addition, each module includes self-study activities and requires the completion of portfolio tasks. 

The ZQ BSK is divided into multiple stages: self-reflection of teaching skills, face-to-face seminars and self-study activities in addition to the creation of a portfolio.  

 

Live seminars (80 units)  

  1. - seminars (70 EU)  

  1. - guided teaching practice and reflective activities (10 units)  

 

Self-study activities (80 EU)  

  • self-learning activities prior to the live seminars  

  • self-learning activities following the live seminars 

Portfolio task (additional time depending on the task) 

Requirements for your participation

To participate, you need BAMF approval in accordance with § 15 para. 1 or para. 2 IntV to teach in integration courses, and a certificate from the course provider confirming their intention to hire you for business and vocational language courses.
