What are the advantages of the vhs teacher qualification for German?

In this dual-module course, you acquire the knowledge and skills you need for action-oriented, CEFR-based adult education language classes. You also learn how to adapt your teaching to the needs of different target groups.  

After the introductory module, you can deepen and expand your basic knowledge in the advanced module. 

After successfully completing both modules, you will receive the "DaF/DaZ Certificate for Teachers of Integration Courses" – recognised by BAMF.

Introductory module  

Day 1: How to teach adults  

Day 2: The CEFR as a basis for language teaching  

Day 3: Teaching and Lesson Planning  

Day 4: Understanding the different target groups in German courses 

 

Advanced module 

Day 1: Motivation and strategies for language acquisition  

Day 2: Learning support and literacy for low-level learners 

Day 3: Pronunciation and speaking skills  

Day 4: German for the workplace 

Day 5: E-Learning in German courses 

Day 6: Testing and assessment at beginner levels  

Day 7: Intercultural Competence and Conflict Management  

Day 8: German courses for young refugees 

 

How does the vhs Teacher Qualification for German work?

Basic module  

Attend the four seminars (8 teaching units per day), complete the accompanying online training materials and a practical task (estimated learning time - 5 units). 

The practical task involves creating a lesson plan and writing a reflective report. 

Complete all parts (4 seminars, online learning, and practical task) to receive a vhs Teaching German certificate of 32 hours. 

 

Advanced module  

Take part in the eight seminars (each 8 units) of the advanced module and complete the accompanying online training materials.  

On day 5 of the course, you will give a presentation (8 minutes) on the topic of e-learning.  

Complete all parts (8 seminars, online training materials and presentation) to receive a vhs Teaching German certificate of 68 units.  

Complete both modules to receive the course certificate for 100 units.
