telc Deutsch A2
Start Deutsch 2 / telc Deutsch A2 is a general language exam that you can normally take after an average of 250 – 300 teaching units (45 minutes). The exam can be taken by anyone.
For work-related purposes we recommend telc Deutsch A2+ Beruf.
What can you do at level A2?
At level A2 you can communicate in a simple way in typical everyday situations. In a familiar context you can hold short conversations. You can use simple grammatical structures correctly.
What is the structure of the examination?
The exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts 70 minutes. The oral exam usually takes place straight after the written exam, without any preparation time.

What is expected from you in the examination?
You can find out the details of the exam by looking at the mock examination telc Deutsch A2. This is a complete test (with answer key), which you can try out at home or in your lessons. In addition, you can read about the exam procedure and how the written test and oral performance are rated.

- How do I prepare myself for the examination?

- Gain language competence in language courses or study on your own. Bookshops have course books that prepare you specifically for the language level A2.
- Familiarise yourself with the procedure and types of subtests of the telc Deutsch A2 examination. The mock examination and the learning objectives will help you with this.
- When can I take the examination?

Your telc examination centre offers examinations regularly, and can also offer exams upon request. Please enquire at the centre when the next exam is scheduled. When you plan, please take into consideration that your examination centre has to register the exam at telc 30 days before the exam date.
- Where can I take a telc examination?

At all telc examination centres (e.g. Adult Education Centres). Please be aware that some examination centres do not offer the entire telc programme. To find the examination centres in your area, please click here.
- What does the examination cost?

Your examination centre will inform you about the exam fee. Each examination centre is free to determine the exam fee individually, so unfortunately we cannot give you any details.
- Can I repeat the examination?

Yes, you can repeat the exam as often as you wish. At level A2 you have to repeat the whole exam, both the written and the oral part.
