Update of 17 April: Regulations on conducting examinations and handling documents

Recommended action for telc license partners

On 16.04.2020, the German federal government again commented on the restrictions on social contact in the public sector in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The general and nationwide ban on social contact remains in place and has been extended until 4.05.2020.

What does this mean in concrete terms for telc licence partners?

telc gGmbH is monitoring the latest developments on a daily basis. Our priority is always the protection of all parties involved, at the examination centres as well as at telc headquarters.

We would therefore ask you:

Before you resume testing, please check with your responsible authority to see which specific protective and hygiene measures you must comply with as a test centre.

As an educational institution, course provider and licensee, you are responsible for ensuring that you have taken all measures necessary to ensure that an examination is conducted safely. The general terms and conditions and examination regulations of telc gGmbH are still binding.

If you meet the official requirements, we will send you your examination documents. This applies from 20.04.2020 onwards. If you have already registered for an examination, but wish to withdraw it, or are unable to meet the requirements, our well-known goodwill regulations will apply once again: If you return the complete set of already delivered examination papers in their sealed, undamaged packaging, before the deadline 30.04.2020 (date of postmark), you will not incur any further costs.
As an additional resource, we have provided a recommendation for action as well as a checklist for conducting examinations during the COVID-19 pandemic, which are available in our telc Community.

For information regarding the German test for immigrants, Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer, we refer to the current BAMF circular.
