telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege for nursing staff is an examination for professional purposes designed for professionals working in nursing and geriatric care who need to prove their language skills at B1 or B2 level. It covers lexis and grammatical structures of the upper range of B1 and B2.

What can you do in work-related situations at level B1 or B2?
At level B2, you can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in the field of nursing and geriatric care. You can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
At level B1 you can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work and everyday situations. You can communicate reasonably fluently in everyday situations and on topics related to the field of nursing and geriatric care.
What is the structure of the examination?
The examination consists of a written and an oral part. The written examination lasts 1 hour and 55 minutes. Before the oral examination you have 20 minutes preparation time. The oral examination can take place on the day of the written examination or on another day.

Lesson plans
The Lesson plans for telc Deutsch B1-B2 Pflege represent examples of tasks that are part of the workshop “Certified trainer: German for medical personnel”. The tasks are to conceptualize a teaching unit and then to write a report about it. During the workshop the participants choose a subject, devise a lesson plan for it and then write the report in order to reflect and document the lesson as it was taught.

- When can I take the examination?

Your telc examination centre offers examinations regularly, and can also offer exams upon request. Please enquire at the centre when the next exam is scheduled. When you plan, please take into consideration that your examination centre has to register the exam at telc 30 days before the exam date.

- What does the examination cost?

Your examination centre will inform you about the exam fee. Each examination centre is free to determine the exam fee individually, so unfortunately we cannot give you any details.
- Can I repeat the examination?

Yes, as often as you wish. You have to repeat the whole examination - the written and oral examination. You will find details on this under § 5 of the examination regulations.
