Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer A2·B1 (Jugendintegrationskurs) is the right exam for you if you need proof of your language competence when applying for German citizenship. Youth integration courses end with this exam. Test topics are chosen for their relevance to the interests of young adults under 27.

What language ability do you need for this exam?

At A2 level you can communicate in a simple way in typical everyday situations. In a familiar context you can hold short conversations. You can use simple grammatical structures correctly.

At B1 level you can communicate in a simple and connected way in everyday situations. You can describe experiences, hopes and ambitions and give reasons for opinions. On the whole you can use the most important grammatical structures correctly.
You are familiar with topics like dealing with the public authorities, work, shopping, health, family, media and where you live.

What is the structure of the examination?

The exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts 100 minutes. The oral exam usually takes place straight after the written exam, without any preparation time.

What is expected from you in the examination?

This is a complete test (with answer key), which you can try out at home or in your lessons. How do I prepare myself for the examination?

What does the examination cost?

If the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) does not pay for the exam, please contact your examination centre for further information.

When can I take the examination?

telc sets the exam dates. Please enquire at your examination centre when the next exam is scheduled.

Where can I take the examination?

At private and public language schools authorised by the GermanBundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge.

How long does it take for me to get my telc certificate?

75% of the certificates are sent out to the examination centre 2 weeks after the complete documents have arrived at the telc Head Office in Frankfurt.

Can I repeat the examination?

Yes, you can repeat the exam as often as you wish. You have to repeat the whole exam, both written and oral parts.
