telc – language tests offers groundbreaking dual-level language examinations, which reliably assess language competence in two levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

What are dual-level language examinations?
Dual-level language examinations consist of a combination of different tasks based on two successive CEFR levels (e.g. A2 and B1) which test communicative competence in listening, reading, speaking and writing.

Always the right level for you!
Do you want to attempt an exam but are not 100% sure what level you are at? Are you confident at one level but would like to test you skills at a higher one? The great advantage of the dual-level format is that it will always be the right exam for you!

How it works:
Every candidate who takes a dual-level examination receives a score sheet with a breakdown of their skills in three separate areas: 1) Reading / Listening / Language Elements, 2) Writing and 3) Speaking. We inform you of your overall result (i.e. A2 or B1), and report on exactly which level of competence you have attained in each area.

The transition between a basic language user (A2) to a competent communicator (B1) represents a major hurdle for many learners. The dual-level formats at A2-B1 level encourage such candidates to take the test, as they have a good chance of successfully completing the examination at one of the two levels.
