Rater qualification Deutsch A1-A2-B1-B2
The qualification course for the rater licence Deutsch A1-A2-B1-B2 takes about 8 hours. It offers you a practical introduction to rating written performance. You
- refresh and deepen your knowledge of the “can do” statements of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEF), especially for levels A1, A2, B1 and B2,
- get to know the telc rating criteria for written performance,
- discuss and rate candidates’ written performances by means of sample letters and
- finish the course with a test.
The licence
The rater licence Deutsch A1-A2-B1-B2 authorises you to rate the written part of the following exams:
- Start Deutsch 1 / telc Deutsch A1
- Start Deutsch 2 / telc Deutsch A2
- telc Deutsch A2+ Beruf
- Zertifikat Deutsch / telc Deutsch B1
- Zertifikat Deutsch für Jugendliche / telc Deutsch B1 Schule
- telc Deutsch B1+ Beruf
- telc Deutsch B2
- telc Deutsch B2+ Beruf
The licence is valid for three years. To renew the licence, you need to re-attend a rater qualification course.
Please note that this licence does not authorise you to rate the written performance for the exam Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer A2-B1. This rating is only done at telc’s Head Office in Frankfurt/Main.
Prerequisites for participation
To participate, you should
- already have an examiner licence for examining an oral telc Deutsch performance (except for DTZ),
- have experience teaching the relevant CEF levels (at least 450 teaching units of 45 min.),
- have native or near mother-tongue language competence in German,
- be familiar with the format of the relevant telc exams,
- know the telc examination regulations and
- know the CEF language competence levels and their practical use.
Qualification criteria
To receive your telc rater licence, you need to
- fulfil all the prerequisites for participation,
- actively participate in the workshop and
- correctly rate candidates’ written performance by means of sample letters.
