Rater qualification English C1
The qualification course for the rater licence English C1 takes about 8 hours. It offers you a practical introduction to rating written performance. You
- refresh and deepen your knowledge of the “can do” statements of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEF), especially for level C1,
- get to know the telc rating criteria for written performance,
- discuss and rate candidates’ written performances by means of sample letters and
- finish the course with a test.
The licence
The rater licence English C1 authorises you to rate the written part of the following exam:
- telc English C1
The licence is valid for three years. To renew the licence, you need to re-attend a rater qualification course.
Prerequisites for participation
To participate, you should
- already have an examiner licence English A2-B1-B2, English B2 Business, English B1-B2 or English C1 for examining an oral telc performance,
- have experience teaching the relevant CEF level (at least 450 teaching units of 45 min.),
- have native or near mother-tongue language competence in English,
- be familiar with the format of the relevant telc exam,
- know the telc examination regulations and
- know the CEF language competence levels and their practical use.
Qualification criteria
To receive your telc rater licence, you need to
- fulfil all the prerequisites for participation,
- actively participate in the workshop and
- correctly rate candidates’ written performance by means of sample letters.
