New Year - New Test

telc English A2-B1  is a dual-level test covering the competence levels A2 – B1. In other words, this examination measures language competence over two levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF). The transition from level A2 to B1 represents a major hurdle for many learners. The dual-level examination encourages candidates to take the test and the certificate indicates the differentiation regarding which level has been reached: A2 or B1.

Starting on 01 February 2011, licensed telc examination centers can register candidates for the telc English A2-B1 examination. Standard telc examinations at the levels of A2 and B1 will still be available.

Examiners who currently possess a license for English A2-B1-B2, can use our Online Training and Certification Module to apply for the additional license for the new examination format. This option will be available starting on 01 February 2011. Additionally, examiners’ workshops in the traditional format will also be offered starting on 12 February 2011.

Additional information as well as the first mock examination can be found here. For specific training for the examination we also recommend our practice book “From A to B” including two CDs with listening comprehension tasks. The practice book will be available in the telc shop on our website starting on 01 February.

If you have any questions about the new English A2-B1 test, our English experts Ines Hälbig and Lynn Brincks would be glad to help you.
