New Publication: Language Certificates – Milestones for Further Education

The telc Company documents its more than 40 years of history in a new self-publication.

In furtherance of the book, telc was able to secure the involvement of several prominent personalities and, through this, to accentuate the significance of European Language Certificates in connection with multilinguality and integration. Among others, German Education Minister Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan, Bavarian premier Horst Seehofer and former President of the German Parliament Prof. Dr. Rita Süssmuth all wrote welcoming words in the publication.

In conjunction with the anniversary of the European Language Certificate, telc’s managing director reminded readers of the sparking idea of the former Bavarian language instructor Robert Nowacek, who initiated the first language testing in Germany and Europe more than four decades ago. Nowacek’s initiative, said Keicher, was a milestone in the development towards today’s high standard of further education in Europe.

Currently amongst those being given anniversary issues are: representatives of Germany’s Adult Education Centres and their associate organisations, telc’s licensing partners in Germany and abroad, colleges and universities, educational organisations for the disadvantaged, as well as politicians involved with integration and education issues. In reading the publication, they can all be reminded of - or discover for the first time – how telc’s language certificates first came about and how they have developed over time.
